Red Hook Concerns
never ceases to explore new lows. Claiming that due
to "controversy," Supervisor Sue Crane and
Councilman Rob Latimer were unable to face the
public and were sworn into office "in secret."
While the January 1
public ceremony was a lovely display of community
spirit, it was also the victim of a substantial
snowfall. The weather prohibited the scheduled
emcee, choir, pastor and many of the other
participants from attending. Supervisor Crane was
ill and unable to leave her home. The event was to
be cancelled. Because some could attend, the event
went on.
We would also add
that Councilman Latimer was already sworn into
office in December and no additional oath of office
was necessary.
Seeking new ways to
belittle community servants serves no one. Let
these officials, Democrats and Republicans get to
work and prove themselves. Distorting the facts to
make your point only further drives a wedge into our
community. ¶
