January 1st not only
rings in the dawn of a new year, in Red Hook, it
begins a new way for our community. Sue Crane will
begin her tenure as Town Supervisor, working with
three new council members. This new town board will
be responsible for serving all of our residents. We
believe they all have the best interests of the
community in mind. The challenge will be to move
beyond the campaign and toward simple public
service. We are certain that the business structure
Supervisor-elect Crane will present and the
organized way that she will conduct town business
will illicit confidence and respect. Councilmembers
Ross, Latimer, Colgan and Strawinski will be held to
equally high standards. The big question is if we,
as residents, will comport ourselves in a manner
equal to the standard we hope to hold these elected
officials to. We can and we should.
As we begin this new time in our community, we
should also thank those who have served and continue
to serve. Thank you Roland Page, Kelly Flood Myers,
Harold Ramsey, Lisa Pullaro,David Seymour and
Marirose Blum Bump.
Thank you to those who begin their service. Happy
New Year Red Hook - there is much to done. ¶
