Red Hook Fire
Company launches Recruitment & Public Relations Campaign
Fire
Chief Michael Burnett is heading up an extensive
campaign to recruit new volunteers to the Red Hook Fire Company
with a letter requesting support for the endeavor from local
businesses and community organizations.
In its early stages of development, the campaign is
being created and implemented by local advertising firm, River
Valley Marketing. Plans feature a kick-off press event at the
fire house tentatively set for the end of March or early April.
The effort will be bolstered by a series of full page
educational ads about the fire company's mission and the
community's increasing needs for volunteer service in the fire
company and rescue squad to be run in local media and promoted
on the fire company web site with current member profiles and
detailed descriptions of services and training undertaken by the
all-volunteer membership.
According to Richard Wambach, principal of River Valley
Marketing, the extent of the campaign will largely depend on the
volume of support the fire company receives from this initial
request for support from local businesses and organizations. "We
fully expect great cooperation for a recruitment drive," he
said, "because we have a very supportive community, whose
leaders understand the importance of maintaining the highest
quality volunteer fire and rescue organization in these changing
times."
The formal campaign will culminate with an Open House
at the fire company sometime the end of April or early May.
However, ongoing activities and additional publicity throughout
the year will culminate in some special recognition or fire
company-sponsored event recognizing National Fire Prevention
week October 5-11.
If you own a business in Red Hook or are a member of a
community organization, please take a look at the letter the
Chief is mailing. You can help spread the word for the future
protection and safety of our community, neighbors and families
by sponsoring a "thank you" message in our advertising
promotion.
Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer in the Red
Hook Fire Company or Rescue Squad should
stop by the fire station at 42
Firehouse Lane on Monday nights between 7:00pm and 9:00pm or
call 845-758-8706.
