Making their own rules...

Red Hook Concerns has questioned if Councilwoman Lisa Pullaro can vote to fill the vacancy created by Supervisor-elect Sue Crane's resignation.  We'd like to answer it for them: YES.

They suggest Councilwoman Pullaro is not a councilwoman at all!  This is an amazing revelation.  Ladies and gentlemen, Lisa Pullaro was appointed in accordance with the law.   Supervisor-elect Crane's successor will be appointed in accordance with the law.

When we allow this kind of "uninformed rumoring" to become a legitimate part of our public decision-making, we abandon every ounce of decency that has been the foundation of our rural community.  Red Hook Concerns wishes to attack anyone who does not fit their model of

citizenship.  By spreading inaccurate information in order to strengthen their argument, they undermine even those they support; fueling a divisive kind of politics that harms our ability to unify the community.

The Town Board was elected to make decisions, right until the end of their terms.  The new Board will be charged with the same responsibility.  We hope they make their decisions considerate of the public's opinion, needs and the needs of our community.  ¶
